August was a packed month for CryoDAO. We saw a massive dealflow update, voted on new proposals, announced the first cohort of fellows, and much more.
Dealflow Update
After months of hard work from the dealflow working group and CryoCore, some of the research projects in the CryoDAO pipeline were finally revealed along with some other surprises.
First and foremost: the flagship research projects, each with their very own codename until we announce more details.
Gaia: Sheep ovary vitrification, replantation, resulting in live births
Brainiac: Brain cells trained to fly a rocket, vitrified, rewarmed, showing memory retention
Mr Roboto: High throughput robotic system for CPA (cryoprotective agent) discovery and testing, resulting in compounds/leads
Lazarus: Entire small mammal high-subzero preservation and revival, regaining full functionality
A few more projects were teased as well from our inbound dealflow, along with an invite for more project proposals.
Aside from just research projects, the dealflow team is also working on organizing an upcoming event, co-authoring a paper on brain and memory preservation, and launching our first internal project, the CryoDAO CPA Database.
So, what’s next for dealflow?
Review and fund the projects
Start work on the Cryo Roadmap 2.0 and paper repository
Start with bi-weekly WG meetings
If you’re interested in joining the team, apply in our Discord. Below you can find the full steward update with other details from the operations and awareness working groups.
Governance Proposals
Two governance proposals went live this month.
Both proposals passed with a 100% positive vote!
We are about to trap…
…incredible value with this one [CRYO-20]. It wouldn't just be the first time ever that viable recovery of large mammal complex organs from extremely low temperatures is achieved, but we at CryoDAO would enable live births from that organ transplant. Unprecedented in so many ways.
Eli Mohamad, CryoCore
The proposal [CRYO-19] aims to fund a project that will:
Design, build, and publish the first modern, dynamically updated, searchable CPA repository, owned by CryoDAO
Create the first IP-NFT in the DeSci ecosystem from a fully internally funded and implemented project, with no third parties involved
Eli Mohamad, CryoCore
All CRYO holders can vote with their CRYO at vote.cryodao.org.
BIO Genesis
The first auction in the BIO Genesis concluded with a total value of $6.22M swapped. 352.69K CRYO was deposited during the auction, making BIO a strong holder in the CryoDAO ecosystem.

CryoDAO Fellows
The first cohort of CryoDAO Fellows was announced with another cohort coming soon.
Andy Yee
"I intend to use the funds to develop a philosophical narrative for CryoDAO [...] through participation in this fellowship, I hope to publish a long-form essay / paper (3,000-5,000 words) in a reputable outlet as a CryoDAO Fellow by the end of this year."
Nemo Soda
"I plan to popularize cryonics and related areas of near-death technologies using YouTube. [...] The second way is podcasts with well-known reputable scientists on topics close to the fight against death."
Jacob Cook
"Applying for a microgrant to attend Biostasis 2024 in Switzerland [...] conference admission, and accommodations."
To apply for the next cohort, submit an application on our website.
