Exciting updates from CRYO-20: The first ovary transplant and preservation was completed - made possible exclusively by CryoDAO members!

This is an exciting moment for both CRYO holders and all of DeSci. Following this, six more transplants took place and the team is well underway to finalize all remaining transplants by the end of the year.

CPA Database Updates

CryoDAO recently voted through CRYO-19: CryoDAO CPA Database to build an online repository of cryoprotectants. In a short period of time there have been some major developments of the project.

Hereticon

Kai Micah Mills from CryoCore attended Hereticon this past week, an invite-only event to share heretical ideas hosted by Founders Fund. While much of the event is secretive, there were many conversations had that will greatly benefit the future of CryoDAO.

Beravangelism

Kai Micah Mills also attended Beravangelism earlier in the month, a side event hosted by Berachain. Will we see some 🧊🐻 in the future? Stay tuned…

CryoDAO recently put out a call for new research: if you know anyone working on the topics of hibernation or torpor in humans, we want to fund them. Earn CRYO by introducing us and helping out with deal flow!

Vitalism

RAADfest

Every year, hundreds of life extension advocates, scientists, and others gather at RAADfest to discuss the most recent advances in the field. CryoDAO stewards Kai Micah Mills and Austin Lynch attended to spread the word about CryoDAO and cryopreservation.

They were able to connect with researchers from our active and upcoming projects as well as meet new funders and potential partners.

Don’t Die Summit

Immediately after RAADfest, the team made their way to San Francisco for Bryan Johnson’s Don’t Die Summit. Eli Mohamad, CryoDAO’s deal flow steward, joined to present our latest research developments.

One of the highlights of the CryoDAO presentation was our newest funded project: Live Births from Vitrified and Replanted Whole Ovaries in Large Mammals.

This project received $350,000 from CryoDAO and was voted through last month. We recently updated the website with more details on the research.

DeSci Summit Singapore

Later in the month, VitaDAO hosted DeSci Summit Singapore during TOKEN2049, which CryoDAO sponsored. We saw a ton of great talks from leaders across decentralized science and bio acceleration.

Dealflow Update

After months of hard work from the dealflow working group and CryoCore, some of the research projects in the CryoDAO pipeline were finally revealed along with some other surprises.

First and foremost: the flagship research projects, each with their very own codename until we announce more details.

Gaia: Sheep ovary vitrification, replantation, resulting in live births

Brainiac: Brain cells trained to fly a rocket, vitrified, rewarmed, showing memory retention

Mr Roboto: High throughput robotic system for CPA (cryoprotective agent) discovery and testing, resulting in compounds/leads

Lazarus: Entire small mammal high-subzero preservation and revival, regaining full functionality

A few more projects were teased as well from our inbound dealflow, along with an invite for more project proposals.

Aside from just research projects, the dealflow team is also working on organizing an upcoming event, co-authoring a paper on brain and memory preservation, and launching our first internal project, the CryoDAO CPA Database.

Governance Proposals

Two governance proposals went live this month.

1. CRYO-19: CryoDAO CPA Database

2. CRYO-20: Funding of Gaia Life

Both proposals passed with a 100% positive vote!

We are about to trap…

The first cohort of CryoDAO Fellows was announced with another cohort coming soon.

CryoDAO <> Molecule Partnership

At the beginning of July, CryoDAO’s Molecule partnership proposal passed with a 100% positive vote. This will support the launch of our very first IP-NFTs and IPTs. CryoCore worked with Molecule to produce a Dealflow and Development Services Agreement.

What are IP-NFTs and IPTs?

• Intellectual Property NFTs (IP-NFTs): IP-NFTs are non-fungible tokens that register scientific IP onchain. IP-NFTs provide a secure, immutable record of scientific IP ownership and rights, enabling easy IP transfer, verification, and management.

• Intellectual Property Tokens (IPTs): IPTs are fungible tokens that distribute the IP rights associated with a particular IP-NFT, decentralizing its scientific process by enabling globally distributed governance of it and transforming the way scientists engage with their online communities.

CryoDAO and Molecule will build a pipeline of groundbreaking cryopreservation research projects and tokenize them. As an example, VitaDAO recently launched their second IPT fundraise, VITARNA, raising over $300,000.

BIO Genesis

The upcoming BIO token gives holders governance rights in the top biotech DAOs like CryoDAO and tokenized IP assets, enabling broad exposure to the DeSci space.

The BIO Genesis has been announced with an official date of August 8! The only way to get BIO is by buying and swapping one of 8 DeSci tokens (including CRYO) with the protocol. This will be a big moment for all of DeSci and we've prepared for it with CRYO-15: CRYO Allocation for BIO Genesis Event. The Genesis event is capped at $30M in total contributions.

For more details on CryoDAO's allocation for the event, see BIOPSY-4: BIO Genesis. CryoDAO will also receive 13,320,000 BIO directly to our treasury for being part of the first cohort of BioDAOs.

Global Cryonics Summit

Almost 200 cryonicists from around the world gathered in Miami at the Global Cryonics Summit, sponsored by CryoDAO. There were scientists, enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and more. The talks included everything from cryonics organization updates to research breakthroughs, and attendees received their very own CryoDAO pin—which was a huge hit.

The event started off with the President’s Panel, featuring both Emil Kendziorra and Kai Micah Mills from CryoCore who discussed Tomorrow Bio, Cryopets, and CryoDAO.

Later on in the day, CryoDAO was pitched by four different researchers:

• Dr. Ramón Risco with a novel rewarming technique for large organs using ultrasound

• Dr. Ralf Spindler with analyzing memory retention in vitrified brains

• Dr. Regina Monaco with preservation of training in

  cryopreserved and revived neural systems

• Dr. Borys Wróbel with a new organization for human brain cryopreservation

The CryoDAO dealflow working group has already been in chats with most of these researchers, and there will soon be updates there.

Finally, Kai Micah Mills from CryoCore presented CryoDAO, talking about our recent fundraise, the CryoDAO Fellowship, CRYO token and more.

The $CRYO token is now live on Base.

The soaring gas fees on Ethereum have been a persistent challenge, impacting the cost-efficiency of transactions and accessibility for users. $CRYO’s expansion to the Base chain was a strategic response aimed at providing a more cost-effective approach. The proposal, which recently garnered approval through a Snapshot vote, outlines a comprehensive plan to allocate substantial liquidity and incentives to support the transition.

Central to this initiative is the allocation of $100,000 in CRYO and ETH liquidity. This substantial allocation is designed to ensure robust liquidity on the Base chain, fostering a stable and efficient trading environment for users. Additionally, we have committed $50,000 in CRYO as liquidity bootstrapping incentives for Aerodrome, a leading DeFi platform on Base. These incentives will be distributed over six months, encouraging active participation and liquidity provision within the ecosystem.

Our decision to prioritize a launch on the Base chain is a forward-thinking move that addresses current challenges and leverages emerging opportunities. By strategically allocating liquidity, forming key partnerships, and focusing on community engagement, CryoDAO is well-positioned to navigate the evolving DeSci landscape.

CryoDAO Launches Fast Grants Fellowship Initiative

The CryoDAO Fast Grants Fellowship aims to empower individuals with need-based grants to become more deeply involved in cryonics and cryopreservation. These grants will support activities such as research, education, conference attendance, and joining relevant programs or fellowships. CryoDAO proposes allocating $10,000 USDC to fund the inaugural CryoDAO Fast Grants Fellowship program, providing micro-grants between $100 - $3,000 to support individuals in their pursuit of cryonics and cryopreservation research, education, and community engagement.

By funding this inaugural batch of CryoDAO Fast Grants Fellows, we aim to foster a vibrant community of individuals dedicated to the growth and development of the cryonics and cryopreservation fields, much like the VitaDAO Longevity Fellowship has done for the longevity community.

With this program we'll also be covering the costs for a few individuals to attend the upcoming Global Cryonics Summit on July 20-21 - make sure to apply if you're interested!

CryoDAO and the DeSci Ecosystem

In preparation for the Biogenesis event coming up in July, we have been able to secure community approval to provide more liquidity. We have moved up to 5% of the supply of CRYO (221,134 CRYO) from our treasury to a single-sided Uniswap v3 pool to improve liquidity for this event. Post-auction, we will replenish our CRYO in the treasury by minting new CRYO equal to the amount locked in the bio.xyz treasury after the Genesis Event and adding it back to the treasury.

The Bio protocol aims to provide liquidity for the DeSci ecosystem. In order to be able to partake in this exercise, you would need to hold $Cryo as non-BioDAO tokens will be ineligible.

In other news, we were listed in the recently updated DeSci roadmap published by ResearchHub. 

We’ve been Chilling around the World.

This year, CryoDAO attended Desci Berlin, a conference of insightful talks by scientists, technologists, blockchain experts, and key players in the biotech industry. Here is a snippet of Emil Kendziorra, a core member of CryoDAO, sharing how the science behind DAOs is handled.

On July 7th, CryoDAO will be at the DeSCi x Brussels event alongside many other DeSci DAOs such as VitaDAO, AthenaDAO, BIO, and GenomeDAO. Come learn about current issues with centralized science, how DeSci can fix them, and explore exciting DeSci projects. Request to join here.

Recent Governance Decisions 

In the continuous effort to advance the DAO, five successful proposals were passed with three getting unanimous votes. Find the proposals below;

• CRYO-11: Aerodrome incentives for CryoDAO x Base Chain Launch; This proposal suggested prioritizing the launch of CRYO on Coinbase's Layer2 - Passed with a 100% positive vote

• CRYO-12: Strategic Plan 2024-2025 passed with a 98.99% positive vote.  

• CRYO-14: CryoDAO Fast Grants Fellowship Proposal; aimed at empowering individuals with need-based grants to become more deeply involved in cryonics and cryopreservation. - 100% positive vote.

• CRYO-15: CRYO Allocation for BIO Genesis Event; was proposed to enable a better experience and slippage reduction for users wanting to participate in the BIO Genesis with larger amounts. - Opposed by only 5.31% votes.

• CRYO-16: Funding Cryopreservation Projects with Molecule Catalyst; focused on sourcing and funding high-impact, small-ticket cryopreservation research. - Passed with a 100% positive vote.

• CRYO-18: CryoDAO <> Molecule Partnership, is live on Snapshot for voting with CRYO!
